Buffalo, N.Y. – Nov. 14, 2006 – Attention Sabres fans!  There’s a new flavor in the Sabres’ lineup: Buffalo Sabres Top Shelf Sundae.  Perry’s Ice Cream, Buffalo’s regional ice cream company located in Akron, N.Y., today announced its latest flavor to hit the ice…box.

Top Shelf Sundae, which boasts its very own “hat trick” with swirls of thick fudge, fudge coated cone pieces and chopped peanuts, is packaged in an eye-catching container donned in Sabres colors, including the team’s new logo.

Top Shelf Sundae is sure to score big with Sabres fans.  Not only can fans indulge to show their team spirit, they can also help the local community with every purchase of Top Shelf Sundae.  A portion of the proceeds from the sales of Top Shelf Sundae will benefit the Buffalo Sabres Foundation, a non-profit foundation that is committed to enhancing the quality of life across the Western New York region.

Fans can scoop up Top Shelf Sundae at HSBC Arena, as well as retail locations across Western New York, including TOPS Markets, Wegmans and other regional supermarkets.

“Perry’s Ice Cream is the ‘Official Ice Cream of the Buffalo Sabres,’ and we thought this was the perfect time for us to introduce a commemorative flavor that signifies our partnership with the Sabres,” said Robert Denning, president, Perry’s Ice Cream.  “We’re also proud to support the Buffalo Sabres Foundation and make a difference in Western New York through sales of Top Shelf Sundae.”

This isn’t the first time Perry’s has created a commemorative Sabres flavor.  The company introduced Sabre Sundae, now known as Butterscotch Sundae, in the early 80s.

Perry’s Ice Cream is served at HSBC Arena, giving fans the opportunity to cool off with frozen treats like a wide variety of hand-dipped ice cream, vanilla and chocolate soft serve and various novelties.
