Perry's Ice Cream to Sponsor Sabres Home Opener

Buffalo, N.Y. - Oct. 3, 2007 - As Sabres fans anxiously await for their favorite time of year to begin (hockey season), Perry's Ice Cream, Buffalo's regional ice cream company located in Akron, N.Y.  is gearing up to sponsor the highly anticipated opening home game against the New York Islanders, Friday, Oct. 5.

On game day, fans will receive one of the most coveted giveaways of the season - the Sabres magnet schedules - as well as a free scoop of Perry's Ice Cream. There will also be a chance to score a year's supply of Perry's Ice Cream during the game. 

In addition, Perrys will be kicking off a "Dishing Up Diamonds" game at the Sabres pre-party in the plaza. Fans can visit the Perry's tent to receive a special giveaway to kick off the program designed to honor Perry's 75th Anniversary of making great tasting, creamy ice cream, the old fashioned way; one batch at a time.

"Teaming up with the Sabres for their opening game is a very exciting time for Perry's," said Robert Denning, president, Perry's Ice Cream.  "Buffalo is dedicated to its sports teams and we want to do our part to support the Sabres."

Perry's Ice Cream is the "Official Ice Cream of the Buffalo Sabres" and is served at HSBC Arena, giving fans the opportunity to cool off with frozen treats such as, a wide variety of hand-dipped ice cream and various novelties.
