
Proceeds to Grant Two Local Wishes
Buffalo, N.Y. - Jan. 2, 2008 - Perry's Ice Cream is the corporate sponsor of the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Western New York's 2008 Heartfelt Wishes Challenge! The Heartfelt Wishes Challenge encourages local high school students to give of their hearts by selling paper hearts around their school for $1. The sales from the hearts will help make wishes come true for local wish children diagnosed with life-threatening medical conditions. Send a heart to your favorite teacher, classmate, special someone or cafeteria lady! Post them on your locker! Mail them to a friend! Goal: Raise $10,000 to grant two local wishes for a waiting wish child.
The challenge will begin the first week of January and conclude on February 8th with the winning school being announced on February 14th. Interested high schools may contact the the Make-A-Wish® office to participate. Every Friday, beginning January 4th, the teacher advisor is encouraged to call the Make-A-Wish® office to provide an update on their respective school's heart sales.
Results will be posted every Monday on the local Make-A-Wish website at: http://www.westny.wish.org/.
WINNERS
The winning school will receive media recognition on February 14th and will also win an ice cream social from Perry's to be set up at a mutually beneficial time.
