Thomas C. Perry was the third generation of the Perrys family to lead the organization started by his grandfather, H. Morton Perry. As president/CEO, Tom led the development of long-term business strategies and goals for Perry’s as well as oversaw all aspects of the organization. Tom notably planned and led the move of Perry’s corporate headquarters to Ice Cream Plaza in 1982, which allowed Perry’s to expand and grow their manufacturing capabilities and customer base.

Tom held a B.S. from Michigan State University in Food Science with a focus in Dairy Business as well as an honorary doctorate from Buffalo State College.

Tom served our local community by volunteering his time for The Akron Lions Club, Bank of Akron Board, Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts of Akron, Treasurer of the Akron Masonic Lodge, Village of Akron Mayor and Village of Akron Board Trustee. Tom also served on the Board of Directors for Ford Gum in Akron and was very active in the ice cream industry and served as the International Ice Cream Association’s (IICA) Treasurer (1989-1991).

Tom was the recipient numerous awards such as The Abraham Lincoln Leadership Award (2004), Akron Citizen of the Year (2002), Ernst & Young, “Entrepreneur of the Year” Finalist (1999), International Ice Cream Association, “Soaring Eagle: Above & Beyond Call of Duty” Award (1999), MDA, “Humanitarian of the Year” (2003), The President’s Award and The Virginia Dare Award (1963).
