It’s our favorite month of the year – National Ice Cream Month is here! Each year we raise a cone to celebrate our favorite treat in the entire world: ice cream!
The Scoop on National Ice Cream Month
Ice cream plays a big part in life’s moments; it brings people together, softens sadness on a bad day, and is a staple for celebrations with family and friends. Did you know that, on average, Americans consume about 23 gallons of ice cream each year? That’s a heaping helping (and we are so here for it). It’s no surprise that ice cream consumption peaks during the month of July, which is why President Ronald Reagan designated July as National Ice Cream Month back in 1984. And since a month just wasn’t enough to celebrate ice cream, there’s also a National Ice Cream Day, which falls annually on the third Sunday in July – this year that’s July 18th!
How We’re Celebrating National Ice Cream Month
National Ice Cream Month is like Christmas for us at Perry’s Ice Cream (Christmas in July anyone?), so we’re ready to celebrate all month long! Check out how we’re celebrating below.
