Perry’s Ice Cream Launches ‘Hey-Ey-Sundae!’ in Partnership with Buffalo Bills 

New flavor introduces partnership with The Buffalo Bills Foundation 

AKRON, N.Y. – NOV. 30, 2021  Perry’s Ice Cream Company, Inc., Upstate New York’s #1 ice cream choice, has launched “Hey-Ey-Sundae!,” a new flavor which blends nougat ice cream with salty caramel swirls and brownie dough pieces. It is the latest creation in Perry’s longstanding collaboration with the Buffalo Bills. The new flavor also kicks off a charitable partnership with the Buffalo Bills Foundation, to which a donation will be made for every sale.  

The name is inspired by the Bills’ “Shout” fight song, the iconic anthem that unites generations of Bills fans. The new flavor is available in 1.5-quart cartons at retailers across Western New York, Central New York and Erie. Pa., including most Tops Markets, Wegmans, Dash’s, Shurfine and Country Fair locations. It will also be available at participating Perry’s scoop shops across these regions. 

Perry’s is the official ice cream of the Buffalo Bills, and Hey-Ey-Sundae! is the fourth co-branded flavor created by this partnership, following Brownie Blitz (2008), Rockpile to the Ralph (2009, the Bills’ 50th Anniversary flavor) and Sundae at the Ralph (2016). 

“Hey-Ey-Sundae! celebrates our hometown team and honors the tradition of fan-favorite Brownie Blitz,” said Perry’s President & CEO Robert Denning. “While brownie dough pieces are still included, we’ve given this flavor a fresh take, with a nougat base and salty caramel swirls for a salty-sweet game day (or any day) indulgence.”

In addition, a portion of the proceeds from every sale will be donated to the Buffalo Bills Foundation, which is dedicated to preventing child hunger, increasing access to nutritious food for families, and supporting healthy eating in the Western New York region. Moreover, as today is also Giving Tuesday across the U.S., Perry’s made an additional $5,000 donation to the foundation today.

In addition to the Bills logo, the new flavor’s packaging features a message to fans: 

  • Hey-ey-ey-ey! Loaded with salty caramel swirls and brownie dough pieces, this flavor makes us wanna Shout! In Buffalo, Sundays are for the Mafia, the most passionate and generous fans in football. To honor the city of good neighbors, Perry’s will donate a portion of the proceeds to the Bills Foundation with every purchase. Let’s Go Buffalo! 

The “Shout” song has become synonymous not only with the Buffalo Bills, but with virtually anything positive in the region. It first appeared in 1987, at the start of the franchise’s build up to its early 1990s Super Bowl Era. It can be heard at weddings, reunions, festivals, parades — even spontaneously in public places and events. The song was originally released by The Isley Brothers in 1959, before vaulting into the panthenon of party music following its inclusion in 1978’s “National Lampoon’s Animal House.” Its call-and-response chorus makes it highly interactive and a natural fit for any entertainment setting. The Bills’ version features modified lyrics sung by Scott Kemper.
