“Let’s Dough Buffalo!™” Brings New Flavor to Sabres 2017-18 Season

Let's Dough Buffalo (2)Perry’s Ice Cream and the Buffalo Sabres Found ‘Where Mama’s Been Hiding the Cookies’ in Let’s Dough Buffalo!™ Premium Ice Cream

Akron, N.Y. – Oct. 9, 2017 – Perry’s Ice Cream, a fourth generation, family-owned ice cream company headquartered in Buffalo, New York, has teamed up with the Buffalo Sabres to officially launch Let’s Dough Buffalo!™, a new premium ice cream flavor honoring the team’s loyal fans.

Let’s Dough Buffalo!™ is a cookie hat trick made up of cookie dough ice cream with crushed cookie swirls and cookie dough pieces. The 1.50-quart package features the loyal fans who stand by Buffalo’s hockey town, along with a special “Letter to the Sabres Nation.”

“As proud Buffalonians, we’re thrilled to kick off this year’s Sabres season with a new collaboration, flavor and charity partner – truly that’s another ‘hat trick’,” said Robert Denning, president and CEO of Perry’s Ice Cream.

Perry’s has a longstanding relationship with the Buffalo Sabres, dating back 35 years to the early 1980s with the launch of Sabre Sundae. In 2006, Perry’s introduced Buffalo Sabres Top Shelf Sundae. Let’s Dough Buffalo!™ is the third Sabres flavor to be introduced to the lineup.

“Once again, our partners at Perry’s Ice Cream have created a product that will give Buffalo sports fans a new way to celebrate their team,” said Erica Muhleman, Pegula Sports and Entertainment’s executive vice president of business development. “Let’s Dough Buffalo!™ is a great new flavor that Sabres fans will enjoy when visiting KeyBank Center and in the comfort of their own homes. Perry’s Ice Cream has been heavily connected to our community for nearly 100 years, and that connection continues to grow every year.”

With every purchase of Let’s Dough Buffalo!™, Perry’s will donate a “Buffalo nickel” to the Buffalo Sabres Foundation, to support community organizations.

This month, Perry’s directed proceeds from the sales of its previous Sabres flavor, Top Shelf Sundae, to the Resource Council of WNY, Inc.,’s Cook n’ Share program. The program, which launched this week with a $15,000 donation from Perry’s, aims to expose at-risk youth to healthy food options and teach children how to prepare low-cost nutritious meals at home. Since 2008, Perry’s has donated $125,000 to the Buffalo Sabres Foundation.

“The Buffalo Sabres Foundation does a tremendous job of identifying and supporting organizations in need throughout Western New York, and we couldn’t be more pleased to see funds from the sales of Let’s Dough Buffalo!™ contribute the new Cook n’ Share program for kids,” added Denning.

“This program will teach children ‘kitchen skills’, including how to plan meals and purchase and prepare healthy foods. These abilities will have both an immediate positive impact on their day- to-day lives and in the long-term by providing possible future career options in the food industry,” noted Brian Perry, executive vice president and chair of Perry’s Ice Cream.

“Back in 1932, the first batch of Perry’s ice cream was made on a kitchen stove using my great-great-grandmother’s recipe for the Akron school. Supporting children in our community is not only near and dear to us, but a fundamental part of our company’s heritage.”

Let’s Dough Buffalo!™ is available for purchase at KeyBank Center, Wegmans, Tops Friendly Markets, Dash’s Market, 7-11 and Perry’s Ice Cream scoop shops throughout Western New York. To find a location near you, use the Perry’s Flavor Finder via perrysicecream.com.
