Local Ice Cream Company is a Super Hero for Kids

Perry’s Ice Cream Champions Support for Women and Children’s Hospital of Buffalo
With the sale of its popular Super Hero ice cream

Akron, N.Y. – April 1, 2016 – Perry’s Ice Cream, a fourth generation, family owned ice cream company headquartered in Buffalo, today announced its campaign to support

Women and Children’s Hospital, a Children’s Miracle Network Hospital.  Perry’s will donate a portion of the proceeds from the sale of its Super Hero ice cream flavor throughout the month of April.

The campaign is in partnership with Entercom Radio’s 12th annual Kiss 98.5 Cares for Kids Radiothon, hosted by Janet Snyder to benefit the hospital.  The total funds raised from Super Hero sales will be announced live during the broadcast from Children’s Hospital on May 6.

The “Kiss Cares for Kids” radiothon has raised more than $2.5 million dollars over 12 years. The proceeds from the radiothon will benefit fundraising for the new hospital.  A remaining $2.7 million dollars is needed out of a total of $50 million dollars in capital requirements.

“62 children enter a Children’s Miracle Network Hospital every minute.  These families are our very own neighbors.  I urge everyone to be a hero for our community and help support Women and Children’s Hospital as our region’s leading provider for comprehensive and state-of-the-art pediatric, neonatal, perinatal and obstetrical services. Perry’s long standing commitment to family makes this a natural partnership for us and a perfect pairing for our popular Super Hero flavor to make a difference,” said Gayle Perry Denning, director of sustainability.

Super Hero ice cream is a classic Perry’s flavor made of cherry bubble gum, lemon and blue raspberry swirled together, bringing a smile to heroes of all ages!

Pride in our region is Perry’s tradition. The Buffalo-based company, who has been crafting premium ice cream for 98 years, supports local suppliers and farmers whenever possible, as 100% of their milk comes from farms within 50 miles.

Super Hero is available for purchase at Wegmans, Tops, Dash’s, 7-11, and Perry’s Ice Cream scoop shops around town.  To find a location near you, use the Perry’s Flavor Finder via perrysicecream.com.
