Perry’s Ice Cream to Feature Additional Allergen Statements on Packaging – Perry's Ice Cream
Akron, N.Y. – May 31, 2016 – Perry’s Ice Cream, a fourth generation, family owned ice cream company headquartered near Buffalo, N.Y., today announced the addition of allergen advisory statements across all Perry’s branded products to better inform consumers who face allergy concerns.
For example: In the case of a product that contains peanut, soy and milk the allergens will continue to be listed with the addition advisory statement as follows:
Allergens: milk, peanut, soy
This product has been manufactured on shared equipment that also processes eggs, tree nuts, and wheat.
Perry’s complies with stringent FDA guidelines for labeling. There are no current regulations regarding advisory statements, and as with all label changes, this will result in different labeling on the same product for a time during the introduction of new labeling. This change will be rolled out as packaging is updated over the next several years.
