Taco Tuesday just got a whole lot sweeter! While it’s not your typical Mexican cuisine (think ice cream sundaes with a little extra good stuff), this simple and delicious ice cream waffle taco recipe will have everyone asking for more the next time you’re on dessert duty.
All you’ll need is frozen waffles, your favorite Perry’s ice cream flavor (we chose vanilla for this recipe), and whichever toppings you’re feeling that day, and you have an upgraded and customizable dessert experience you’ll love.
To top things off, we added whipped cream (of course), sprinkles, chocolate syrup, and cherries.
What you’ll need for your ice cream waffle taco:
- Perry’s Vanilla ice cream
- 12 Toaster waffles
- Whipped cream
- Sprinkles
- Chocolate syrup
- Cherries
Instructions:
Step 1: Lay the groundwork and prepare your shells.
Allow waffles to thaw to room temperature before arranging them in a 9×13 baking dish. This will allow you to shape your waffles and give them a “hard shell” look similar to a taco.
Step 2: Fill & freeze your tacos.
Once your waffle shells are arranged, add 1-2 scoops of Perry’s Vanilla to each waffle. Then top with a delicious chocolate syrup and place your baking dish in the freezer. You’ll want to freeze your tacos for about 10 minutes.
Step 3: Add your toppings and enjoy!
Once your taco shells are firm from the freezer, it’s time for the fun step! Top each taco with whipped cream, sprinkles, a cherry, and whatever additional good stuff you decide. After that, the part you’ve been waiting for has arrived—serve, taste, and enjoy your delicious masterpiece!
Want to take the recipe a step further? Make your own waffles using a waffle iron for a little hint of homemade. Taking the ice cream waffle taco to-go? Store them in the freezer until you’re ready to unveil!
And there you have it! In just three simple steps, you have an easy, unique, and crowd-pleasing dessert option.
